Dear reader, this is g.k gaius from The Wanderer’s Silent Fables once again. Happy new year - May your 2025 be marvelous. Today, I’m bringing you a poem from the hearts of lost boys. If you’re new, welcome. I’m glad to have to here. Everyone else, thank you once again for supporting my publication!
Enjoy this short poem!
We were the lost boys
Raised with ideas to be just like everyone else.
We were the lost boys
Blessed with invitations to drink with them
in the world they curated for us
Only if we do this or thus
Only if we like this or thus.
We were the lost boys
We knew that failure to do thus
Would make us invisible to everyone
So we, the lost boys
To grow and to be seen,
Conformed
And our hearts shattered
Unable to do what truly pleased it.
The world they created for us had its walls
Protecting us from the ideas of those
Who would set us free.
We became the lost boys
Searching for a world
Where we can be ourselves.
A world where being told to
Do this or thus doesn't exist.
And that's a wrap for the first poem of 2025. Thank you as always for reading these words of mine. Looking forward to what the words will whisper to my ears in 2025.
Till next time
