“What’s going on?” I asked.

I look to my left, seeing the bag taken off my translator’s head as well.

The men around us spoke but I’m unable to fully understand their words..

“They say we’ll be killed soon for trespassing,” my translator next to me said.

I looked up at the men standing, I saw tall figues but unclear faces.

“Why? Why is skydiving and landing here trespassing?”

“Bro!” my translator began, “We skydived into the north.”

“North? As in North Korea?” my arms began to shake.

They said something and I’m lifted up from the ground, brought in front of an empty chair. A figure walked towards the chair, sat and asked a question - still unable to understand so my translator spoke. His hands moved in the air so I’m sure he explained how we got here.

“What did he say?”

“He asked what brought you here.”

“And you told him how we got here right?”

“Yes!”

I looked at the figure, “We didn’t mean to come here, I promise that this is all a mistake.”

“Were you sent by spies?” the man uttered.

I squinted my eyes to try and see his face but was still blinded by the sun.

“Hold on, you speak english. Great! We got here by mistake. We got lost and we won’t ever trespass again.”

The man got up, walked towards me. I can tell that it’s someone high up. I bow my head in respect and utter hello in korean.

“Truly, it’s all a mistake. We landed here by mistake.”

“Okay,” he said, “torture them and see if they’re spies.”

I began to tremble, “NOT A SPY!” I got up, “I’m not a spy I promise so please let us go.”

“AHHH!” I heard and looked behind me seeing as my translator was stabbed. His face fell flat on the ground and the blood spread my way.

“I’m next then?” I cry.

“Kill him,” the man said and walked away.

I sighed, “well, how am I supposed to tell my story then? To the person reading this, don’t you think it’s a disservice to end things this way? Don’t kill me please, please don’t….”
